Satellite Applications Catapult is a non-profit organisation that sits between industry, academia and government to help the space sector grow in strength, breadth, profitability and equity of opportunity. We do this by supporting businesses in the sector to scale up by providing facilities and test beds, technical support through the de-risking areas of innovation that would otherwise not be commercially viable, and championing key mission areas that we see have the greatest potential for the UK space sector to maintain and grow on the international stage. We facilitate a place-based approach to encourage businesses across the country to access the resources and networks needed to thrive, and look to support a diverse and skilled pipeline of workforce both within and entering the sector. At the Satellite Applications Catapult, we facilitate early career opportunities at our organisation and across the sector, through the SPIN programme. SPIN (Space Placements in Industry) collects together 8-week paid internships at companies across the sector for students looking to translate their university studies into a job role in space. We are also active at careers events, championing the understanding that space can offer exciting opportunities for your future, both for technical specialists and engineers looking to redefine the future edge of innovation, and those who can unlock that potential through business & communication.
